Crosswalk Awareness Day

Saturday, June 4, was Crosswalk Awareness Day in Corrales.

A group of young volunteers stops traffic at the Via Oreada crosswalk June 4, 2011
 CHAMP members joined pedestrians and cyclists to use the crosswalks in the village to remind drivers that the law requires them to stop for people and animals crossing the road.

The main crosswalks monitored included Corrales Road/Via Oreada; Corrales Road/Jones Road (Rec Center); Meadowlark/\Front Ditch; and Romero and Corrales Roads. CHAMP members staffed all of the crosswalks.
