2011 July 4 Parade
After some initial confusion concerning the outbreak of equine herpes virus, horses and ponies played a featured role in the annual Corrales July 4 parade, sponsored by Corrales MainStreet and the village. Although CHAMP is not a sponsor, CHAMP members worked as individuals to stage the equine section of the parade and to clean up after the equine participants. Following comments from earlier parades, Corrales MainStreet moved the equine section to the front of the parade, so that horses and riders did not have to wait in the hot sun.

The owners of Pine Ridge Arabians volunteered a truck and a 12-horse trailer to lead the equine section of the parade and it was decorated with the slogan, "Corrales- Horse Capital of New Mexico," that was devised by CHAMP member Steve Komadina and officially adopted by the village council.
You can find more information about the parade at the Corrales July 4 Parade website.
